About

A place for research to keep moving

Scientific Commons is a shared place for research to develop over time. It brings together the work behind a result, the evidence that supports it and the problems that remain. Papers still matter; research should also be able to build on work that happens before, between and after publications.

01

The work behind a result gets scattered

Ideas sit in notebooks, methods in code, results in papers and failed attempts in lab notes or conversations. When these pieces lose their connection, researchers can repeat work or miss why a particular approach succeeded or failed. Scientific Commons aims to keep useful knowledge connected to the research it belongs to.

02

The focus is the work, not the score

Scientific Commons is not built around likes, publication counts or popularity rankings. It is about what people investigate, what their evidence shows, what remains uncertain and how others contribute. A contribution should be understood in context, not reduced to a number.

03

Start small. Build on real research.

We are starting with a focused set of research topics and the contributions that help move them forward. The platform should grow from how people actually investigate problems, with care for evidence, credit and scientific independence. It is not a replacement for journals, but a place for useful research to continue beyond a single publication.
